MR. STEPHEN PANKO, age 97 of Regina, formerly of Moose Jaw, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2009. Stephen emigrated from the Ukraine at an early age to join his two brothers. He lived in the Moose Jaw area - farming, working at Swift Canadian Meat Packers, and C.P. Railway until his retirement. Predeceased by his parents, wife, Lena, daughter, Shirley; two brothers, Carl and Clement and his second wife, Anna Symunuk, Stephen is survived by his son, Larry (Heather Stuart); three grandchildren: Tina (Erin) Kish, Joey (Crystal) Panko and Rick Panko, and two great-grandchildren. A private family graveside service will take place at Sunset Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 21, 7-9 p.m. at the W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 106 Athabasca St. E., Moose Jaw. Memorials in memory of Stephen may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
