Anne Basarsky of Moose Jaw, formerly of the Yorkton area, passed away on April 17, 2009. Anne was born 98 years ago on a farm in the Yorkton area. By the age of 17 she was taking “normal school” in Moose Jaw, and for the next many years taught school in the one room schools of communities around Yorkton. She enjoyed the company of her many brothers and sisters, farm life, reading, card games, camping and fishing. She is predeceased by Sergie, her husband of 68 years, and six brothes and sisters. She will be sadly missed by her son Peter, grandson Bill, one sister and one brother, and her good friends still living in the Yorkton area. A private service will be held, with burial beside her husband Sergie at Rosedale Cemetery. Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society, 61B Ross St.W., Moose Jaw, S6H 2M2, would be appreciated.
