CROSS - Mr. James Emanuel William. of Swift Current, SK, passed away April 16, 2009, at the Cypress Regional Hospital at the age of 84 years. Jim was born in Gull Lake, SK, on September 24, 1924, the only child of Emmanuel and Anna Bella (nee Urquhart) Cross. He was raised on his parents homestead in the house his father built in 1918 located at SW 32-13-18 W3rd in the RM of Webb #138. Jim obtained all his schooling in Gull Lake and he worked the family farm with his Dad. On March 20, 1970, Jim married Iva Marle Myers of Cannington Manor in Gull Lake, SK. Jim and Iva lived on the family farm until May 30, 1974, when they made the move into Swift Current, SK. Jim took a job as a Caretaker for the Provincial Government at the E.I. Building where he worked until he retired. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Iva in 1995 and his parents Emmanuel (1956) and Anna Bella (1949) Cross. He leaves to cherish his memory Doreen and Wayne Westbury and their children, Charmaine, Tom Damien, Devin and Shawn. He also leaves behind many special friends. At the request of Jim, a graveside service was held the Gull Lake Cemetery where he was laid to rest beside his beloved Iva on April 22, 2009, at 2:00 PM, with Devon Palmer officiating.
