LYDING – James Edward (Jim) a resident of the Herbert and District Integrated Health Facility passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009. He was the only child of Mary (Schaak) and Pete Lyding. Jim was born in Swift Current, SK, on April 7, 1939 and grew up on the farm near Neville, SK. Following high school graduation in 1957, Jim attended the Saskatchewan Teachers College in Moose Jaw for a year. His teaching career took him to schools in Hallonquist and Vanguard. While in Vanguard, he was associated with the United Church and later with the Community Bible Church. Over the years, Jim was a correspondent to the Assiniboia Times, the Gravelbourg Tribune, and the Swift Current Sun. He was a member of the Vanguard Senior Citizens Association and the Vanguard Cemetery Committee. Jim was predeceased by his parents and his step-mother. A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at 10:30 am. at the Neville Cemetery, Neville, SK.
