Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre after a courageous battle with cancer on April 21, 2009, John Boland, age 61 years of Cape Broyle. Predeceased by his loving wife Nora (2006), parents Michael (1994) and Marie (1977), brother Pete Boland (2008). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Clayton (Lisa), Tammy (Erwin) O’Brien, Billy (Gail), and Clyde (Amanda); grandchildren: Melanie and James O’Brien, Joey, Michael and Noah Boland. Also survived by brothers: Michael (Mildred), Thomas (Linda), Vince (Jeanie), Derm (Bernice), Gordon (Catherine) and sisters: Ellen (Frank) Tuff and Mary (Gerard) Goodridge and sister-in-law Anne Boland. The family would like to extend its gratitude for the excellent care by the staff at Alderwood Estates Personal Care Home, Health Sciences Centre and the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. Flowers gratefully accepted or a donation in his memory may be made out to the Canadian Cancer Society. Resting at Ryan’s Funeral Home, Bay Bulls. Visitation on Thursday, April 23rd from 7-9 p.m. and Friday, April 24th from 2 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Saturday, April 25th from Immaculate R.C. Church, Cape Broyle at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Cape R.C. Cemetery, Cape Broyle.
