(nee Smith) Passed peacefully away on Sunday, September 14, 2008, at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex, Hazel Marion Whitten, of Mount Pearl in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband James Clarence Whitten; parents: William Robert Smith and Ida May (nee Dingle); her sisters: Blanche, Margaret, Elizabeth and brothers: Edward, Robert, James, Horton and William. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her sisters: Laura May Colyer of St. John's and Dorothy Mary (Glennis) Cahela of Boaz, Alabama, USA; sister-in-law: Veronica Audrey Smith of Manuels, CBS; special friend Curtis Inkpen; also a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Essaji and the staff at Hoyles-Escasoni Complex for their excellent care and support. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2008, also Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Funeral service to be held from Barrett's Chapel on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
