It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of Frederick Edgar Miles, on April 22, 2009 at the Glace Bay Health Care Complex.
Born in Dominion, he was the son of the late Edgar and Mary (Peach) Miles. Frederick was employed in numbers 20 and 12 collieries. He also worked construction and belonged to the carpentry union in Sydney. Frederick was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church. He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Frederick is survived by his wife, Rose; sons, Thomas (Irene), Glace Bay, Kenneth, Petawawa Ont., Kevin at home, and Blair (Pam) Oromocto, N.B.; sister, Olive, St. Catharines, Ont. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Frederick was predeceased by two children in infancy.
A private family service for the late Frederick Miles will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay, 849-7520 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Vernon Reed officiating. Interment in the Good Sheppard Cemetery, Dominion.
