Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Thursday, April 21, 2009, Rachel W. Soper (nee Trickett) of Carbonear, age 91 years. Predeceased by husband William W. and brother Warrick. Leaving to mourn one daughter June (Rex) Cotter, Carbonear; three sons: David (Linda), Burlington, ON, Ernest (Nancy) Fredericton, NB and William ‘Bill’ (Jane) Labrador City; eight grandchildren: Heather (Roger), Robert (Carol Ann), Michael, June (Scott), Lisa (Mark), Mark, Matthew and Katie; seven great-grandchildren: Nathan, Stephen, Rachael, Britany, Sharon, Sebastian and Eathan; two sisters: Minnie Burt, Masonic Park, St. John’s and Doris Diamond, St. Luke’s Home, St. John’s; sisters-in-law: Marion Trickett, Brigus and Lillian Babb, Harbour Grace; brothers-in-law: Charles (Winnie) Soper, Carbonear, Ken (Marjorie) Soper, Scarborough, ON, Don (Marie) Soper, Halifax, NS, Lloyd (Lorna) Soper, Dartmouth, NS; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at NOEL’S FUNERAL HOME, WATER STREET, CARBONEAR with visitation hours by request of the family on Thursday, April 23, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Friday, April 24, 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, April 25th at 11:00 a.m. from Bethany United Church, Carbonear. Interment in the Interfaith Cemetery, Carbonear.
