WILSON, Douglas Patrick (Rick) – December 17, 1949 - April 21, 2009. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rick Wilson, surrounded peacefully by his family on Tuesday April 21 after a hard fought battle with a rare blood disorder. Leaving to mourn, the love of his life and best friend Goldie. Amazing father to Jeff (Jolene) and Tara (Dana) and his beloved dog, Bo, and adored Grandpa to Jake, Julia, Jessica, Griffin and Paige. Predeceased by his father Earl and sister-in-law Karen. He will be sadly missed by his mother Lena, brothers Steve, Tom (Terry), Mark (Lori) and sister Liz (Bob), Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Winston and Emma Coates, Brothers-in-law Glen (Janice) and Gary (Tina) and special Aunt Alma, along with his many nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by the many friends and neighbors he touched during his 28 years in the military and 10 years with WestJet as a pilot. The world will be less bright for all those who knew him. There will be no formal service as per his wishes, please raise a glass in his memory. If desired, memorial donations can be made to a charity of choice.
