It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Claire J. Pike, 66, Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Bernadette (LeBlanc) Moss. She worked as a bookkeeper/accountant for several small businesses on the Northside. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Sydney River and St. Mary’s Church, Frenchvale.
Claire leaves behind her beloved husband, Ronald J. Pike, a resident at the Northside Guest Home; her daughters, Noreen Landry, Toronto, Patricia Pike, Kentville, Clarissa (Michael) Small, Clinton, Mass., Katherina (Glen) MacIssac, Calgary and Debora Pike, Sydney; 10 grandchildren; siblings, Mary Moss, Ont., Gordon (Enis) Moss, Allan (Patsy) Moss, Patricia (Tommy) Murphy, all of Sydney and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Claire was predeceased by her beloved and never forgotten son Ronald Allan (December 19, 1984) and two grandchildren, Michael and Mary Small, also by brothers, Leo in infancy, Ernest, Kevin; sister, Helen Cormier.
Visitation for Claire will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Church, Frenchvale, with burial in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
