Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on April 25, 2009, Cecil J. Goobie, aged 76 years. Predeceased by his wife Florence (nee Harnum), parents Charles and Stella; brother Charles and sisters: Catherine Sprague and Agnes. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his sons: David and Glen, stepdaughters: Sandra (George Parsons) and Audrey (Doug Russell) and step-son Sandy (Marie) Duffett, eight grandchildren; brothers: Donald, Edward (Joan), Gilbert (Elizabeth), Gerald (Nancy), sisters: Shirley (Frank) Greeley, Florence (John) Melee and Patricia; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 27 and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 29 at 11 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel, 329 Freshwater Road. Inurnment to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Goobie's memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or the Children's Wish Foundation.
