Peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, of Mr. Joseph "Joe" Myers of Andrew’s Lodge and formerly of Covehead, in his 87th year. Dear father of Marie (Joe) Hynes of Codroy Valley, N.L., and Terry (Kim) Myers of Pleasant Grove. He is also survived by four loving grandchildren, Brody, Mathieu, Marcy and Nicole; his sister, Caroline "Carrie" Burt of York. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Katherine (nee Venoit) Myers; sisters and brothers, Irene, Irving, Alfred, Jack, Kay, Bernard and Charlie, Maida and Bernie O’Brien. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 2 p.m. Thursday, then transferred to St. Eugene’s Church, Covehead, for funeral mass at 2:30 p.m. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery. If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the P.E.I. Kidney Foundation.
