The death occurred in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Saturday, April 25, 2009, of David Reid, of Central Bedeque, aged 73 years. Born in Middleton, he was the son of the late William and Georgie (Carruthers) Reid. Survived by his wife Linda “Lynn” (Warren) Reid, children Brian Reid, Whistler, B.C., Elizabeth (Manny) Figueiredo, Innisfil, Ont., Tracy (Murray) Bell, Central Bedeque, Michael Wilson (Samantha Hackson), Barrie, Ont., grandchildren Katie Figueiredo, Steven Bell, Jacob Bell, Nicole Figueiredo, Jessee Figueiredo and special PAPA of Jennifer Garnhum and Elisa Carota, sister, Wilma Evans, London, Ont., brother, Robert (Norma) Reid, Summerside, sister-in-law, Dorothy Reid, Summerside, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Allen, and brothers, James, George, Billy and John, in infancy. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Friday then to the Bedeque United Church, for funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment later in the Lower Bedeque Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Family flowers only by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Bedeque United Church would be appreciated.
