Age 77 years. Passed peacefully away in the presence of his daughter Sharon, son Sonny and brother Ralph on Monday, April 27, 2009. Predeceased by wife Anna Gertrude Hogan (nee Reddy); daughters: baby Linda and Deborah Hogan; father Henry Leo Hogan; mother Ellen (nee Barry); brothers: John Alexander and Maurice (wife Margaret Kennedy); sisters: Genevieve Lacey (husband Douglas) and Mary Hogan. Leaving to mourn daughters: Sharon Tucker (Wallace) Linda Defreitas (Phillip) and Peggy Hogan (Joe Aylward); son Sonny Hogan (Janeatt); grandchildren: Laurie Pittman (Matthew), Adam and Josh Defreitas, Jonathan and Stephen Driscoll, Brandon Aylward, Levi and Marlo Hogan; brothers: Thomas (Violet) of Quebec, Ronald of St. John’s and Ralph (Carol) of Mt. Pearl; and a wide circle of family and friends. Also leaving to mourn special friend Kay Rose and the “Legion” of friends from the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 1. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave. on Tuesday, April 28 from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m., Wednesday, April 29 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Thursday, April 30 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from Barrett’s Chapel, Friday, May 1, 2009 at 2 p.m. Private internment to follow at a later date.
