Charles ‘Charlie’ Anthony Rigby, 62, of Lower Sackville, passed away April 25, 2009 in Sarasota, Florida.
Born in Sydney, N.S., he was the son of the late Charles L. and Sadie C. (MacNeil) Rigby. Charlie was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors for 40 years. He was an avid skier, kayaker, tennis player and swimmer. He enjoyed his last six winters as a “snow-bird†in Sun N Fun, Sarasota, Florida, and summers at the family cottage in Big Pond. He was a proud husband, father and grandfather who’s humourous stories will be sadly missed by his many friends.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharron (McKeagan); sons, Lawrence (Shelley) Rigby, Craig (Krista) Rigby, all of Sackville; brother, Douglas (Valerie) Rigby, Sydney; devoted Papa to grandchildren, Madison and Alison Rigby.
He predeceased by brother, Sandy.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Memorial Mass will be held Monday 10 a.m. in St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Lower Sackville. Interment at Oakridge Memory Gardens with a reception to follow at son Craig’s home.
