“Jackie” September 24, 1915 - April 29, 2009
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great & great great grandmother Jackie at Victoria hospital. Jackie was born and raised in Prince Albert to Jacobus & Johanna Debruin who were recently settled in the area. She remained in PA her entire life, raising her 5 children. Jackie had a long career as a cook at the Vic hospital. She enjoyed gardening, sewing,
playing cards, dice, the piano, bingo, music and bowling. Jackie was predeceased by her husband Leo King, her parents Jacobus & Johanna Debruin; sisters Johanna (Joan)Hillman, Petronella (Nell) Brown; brother Peter Debruin; Husband Robert Holtom (Bob); daughter Janet Lundgren; granddaughter Wanda Turgeon. Jackie is survived by her sister Jessie Chudek; children Allan (Ina) Holtom, Edna (Al) Good,
James (Marie) Holtom, Dave (Jean) Holtom; son-in-law Helmer Lundgren; 15 grandchildren& their spouses and numerous nieces & nephews. Jackie will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. M. Chrusch, the emergency room staff at Victoria hospital and the entire staff & residents of Pineview Terrace Lodge. The family would also like to send out a special acknowledgement & heartfelt thanks to niece Margie Judd for her special place in Jackie’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice. A funeral service will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel on Monday, May 4 at 1:30 pm.
