Passed peacefully away on Friday, May 1, 2009, at the Masonic Park Nursing Home, Arthur Jellicoe Clarke, aged 86 years. Predeceased by his wife Sheila; brothers: Bill, Harvey, Richard and Harrison; sister, Doris. Leaving to mourn daughter Elaine (Hal Fillier), Toronto, ON and son Blair (Bertha), St. John’s. Also leaving to mourn brother Fred (Scarborough, ON) and sister Mildred (Dartmouth, NS); four grandchildren: Bruce Fillier (Mary), Michelle Russell, Christopher (Brigitte) Clarke, Colin (Molly) Clarke; six great-grandchildren, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Monday, May 4, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Field of Honor. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Predeceased by her husband Harry (1995); brothers: George, Leonard and Robert; sisters: Mona, Jessie and Gertrude. Leaving to mourn three daughters: Estella Burton (Gus), Maureen Oliver (Peter) and Lois Coish (Steve); two sons: Harry Constantine (Alice) and Boyd Constantine (Deb); 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; brother Arthur Reid (Ruth); sister Edith Hobbs; sisters-in-law: Sadie Reid, Edith Reid and Jean Reid; brother-in-law John Constantine. Special thank you to Bernadine Knight, Ethel Noseworthy and Dora Benson for their night vigils and to all the doctors and nurses of 4NB, Health Sciences Centre for their undivided care and attention. Also to Father John Courage, Anglican Chaplain for all his prayers and comforting words.
