Gwendolyn "Gwen" Hamilton, 80, of Upper Stewiacke, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2009 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro.
Born in Otterbrook, she was a daughter of the late James and Eliza (Nichols) Tree.
Gwen was a member of the Upper Stewiacke United Church, Upper Stewiacke.
She is survived by daughters Sylvia Nason, (Laurence), Kim Cox (Robert), both of Upper Stewiacke, Nancy (Bruce), Debert, Iva Young (Richard) Prospect Bay, Halifax County, Sharon Isnor (Gordon), Carroll’s Corner, Halifax County; sons Wayne (Debbie), Milford, Alan, (Kim), Upper Stewiacke, Randy, (Kim), Middle Stewiacke; sisters Julia Joudrey (Russell), Truro, Vivian Sheehan (Daniel), Thorburn; brother, James (Lola), Thorburn; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Gwen was predeceased by her husband Harold Trueman Hamilton; son Peter Suther; sisters Mae, Hattie, Grace; brothers Carl, Hedley, Bill, John, Hance, two brothers in infancy.
No visitation by request. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, May 2, at 1 p.m. in the Pembroke Cemetery, Pembroke with Rev. Alice Rutherford officiating. Donations in Gwen’s memory may be made to the Pembroke Cemetery.
