Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Monday, May 4, 2009, Gordon William Morris, aged 91 years. Gordon was predeceased by Bernice, his beloved wife of 63 years. Leaving to mourn with fond memories his son Warren (Joy); his daughters: Sandra Perry (Brian), Lynne Cook (Bob) and Heather Wissler (Joe); his grandchildren: Melissa and Christopher Morris, Shauna, Geoff, Jon Meghan and Heather Perry; seven great-grandchildren; sister Joan Anderson of North Dakota; brother Doug (Betty) of Bramelea, ON; sister-in-law Phyllis Graham of Toronto, ON; also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Serenity Home Care for their years of care for Gordon and Bernice; and to the staff and caregivers at Meadow Creek Retirement Centre and the Escasoni Home for their loving care. Gordon devoted his life to his wife and family and to the service of Cochrane Street United Church. Gordon worked for many years as an accountant at Imperial Oil and Aska Sales. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and then on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held from Cochrane Street United Church on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
