It is with great sadness that the family of the late Bernadette Burke announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Friday, November 14, 2008 at the age of 92 years. She will be sadly missed by her four sons: Colin Burke of Port au Port East, Pat Burke of Labrador City, Denis (Vicky) Burke of Port au Port East, John (Esther) Burke of Port au Port East, three daughters: Angela (Frank) Saville of Labrador City, Bernadette (Ron) Nowell of Calgary, Mary (Joe) Arruda of Corner Brook, 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, John Burke. Friends may call at the Maria Regina Parish, Port au Port East on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, November 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the Maria Regina Parish, Port au Port East with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Port au Port East. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Daffodil Place in St. John’s or to a local food bank would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell’s Funeral Home, Stephenville.
