The family of the late Bernice Gillam are saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday, November 11th, 2008 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in her 82nd year. She was the eldest daughter of the late Louisa and Walter Gillam. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her four sisters: Claudia Burlingham of California, Louise Christopher (Edwin) of Corner Brook, Doreen Disk (Fred) of Pennsylvania, Janet Pardy (David) of Corner Brook; her three brothers: Wilfred (Barbara), George (Cora), and David, all of Corner Brook; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and their families. She was predeceased by her sister Alice Suley. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A family memorial service will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Friday, November 14, 2008 at 2 pm with Rev. Derek Thomas officiating. Internment to take place at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital or to All Saints Anglican Church.
