Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, April 1st, 2008 at the Interfaith Home, Corner Brook, Bridget Hakansson at the age of 102 years. Predeceased by her husband, Henrik and son-in-law, Robert Thorne. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her daughter, Marie Thorne; five grandchildren: Robert (Debbie), New Glasgow, NS, Paul (Diane), London, ON, Carolyn, Charlottetown, PEI, Alan (Jeannie), St. John’s and Alison (Edward Turpin), St. John’s; seven great-grandsons: Michael, Andrew, Jeffrey, Jasper and Anderson Thorne, Taylor and Christian Pye; one great-granddaughter: Janice Thorne; one great-great-grandson: Dustin Thorne; as well as other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Friday, April 4th from 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 5th at 10:30 a.m. from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer, Mt. Bernard Avenue. Father Ambrose Hynes officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
