It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doreen Elizabeth Colbourne announce her passing on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008 at her family residence at the age of 74 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Albert, children: George (Josie), Corner Brook, Marie (Wayne) Normore, Bedford, NS and Frazer (Cindy), Corner Brook; grandchildren: Jason, Brandon, Alex, Ryan, Megan and Katie, sister Shirley (Ray) Baird, Corner Brook; sisters and brothers-in-law: Elizabeth (Donald) Wells, Wolfville, NS, Paul (Mary) Colbourne, St. John’s, Frank (Angela) Colbourne, Ontario, Doris (Jeff) Wilcox, St. John’s and Rudy Thistle, Corner Brook. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents George and Frances Pickering, sister Mary (William) French and sister-in-law Margaret Thistle. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark’s Avenue on Thursday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 PM from where a memorial service will be held on Friday, July 4th at 2:00 PM with Father Bernard Buckle officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy no flowers by request donations may be made to the Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation. The family would like to thank everyone that was involved with her care over the past month. As a loyal Royals fan for many years, Mom would like to say a final good-bye to all her friends that gathered together for each game and to the Royals Team, GO ROYALS GO!
