It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doris Downey (nee Parsons) announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital, Stephenville on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the age of 75 years. She leaves with cherished memories her brothers: Harold Parsons, Marcus Hood, PA, James (Elizabeth) Parsons, Curling, NL; sisters: Marjorie McKay, Stephenville, NL, Anita Dennison, Niagara Falls, ON, Edna (Larry) Tavares, Tiverton, RI, goddaughter Carolyn Bennett; good friend Shirley Gabriel and friends from the Acadian Village in Stephenville, also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Sebastian Downey, parents James and Margaret Parsons, brother: Roy Parsons; and sister-in-law Phyllis Parsons. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home Stephenville Crossing on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place from Church of the Assumption in Stephenville Crossing on Monday, May 26th at 10:30 a.m. with Father Gerard Patry officiating. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brook Street, Stephenville Crossing.
