Passed away at the St. Clare's Mercy Hospital in St. John's on Tuesday, February 12 2008 at the age of 84 years, Douglas Edwin Janes. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his family; sisters Mrs. Joan Easton and Mrs. Hilda Bingle both of Deer Lake, six brothers: Baxter Janes of Corner Brook, Aubrey (Bonnie) Janes, Doyle (Margaret) Janes both of Reidville, Oliver (Gertie) Janes of Deer Lake, Ford (Bertha) Janes of Corner Brook, and Lloyd Janes of Deer Lake. his three sons: Tony (Lydia) Cornish of Grand Bank, Ralph (Edna) Parrill of Ontario, and Douglas Jr. Janes of Nova Scotia. his daughter; Christine (Clayton) Delaney of Conception Bay, NL; his nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren; his special niece with whom he lived Nola (Ben) Feltham. Also leaves to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Douglas was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Maude Janes, brothers; Chesley and Everett and his sister Ethel. The family are receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, today Friday, February 15th, 2008 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 16th, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake, with Major Lindsey Oxford officiating with the burial to follow at the church cemetery at Wights Road, Deer Lake.
