It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ed Simmons announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 in his 72nd year. He will be sadly missed with fond and loving memories by his wife Jean (nee Anstey) of 53 years, his 12 children: Marilyn King, Tony (Valerie), Karen Simmons, Carol (Gary) Langdon, Sharon (Dwight) McKay, Dean (Susan), Dennis (Melinda), Debbie (Michael) Crawford, Capts. Lori (Danny) Pinksen, Jamie, Tammy Simmons and Dion (Pamela), 46 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, his 4 sisters Marion (Ross) Strong, Mrs. Julia Upwards, Mrs. Pearl Knight and Valma (Tom) Saunders, 3 brothers Hubert (Bonnie), Eric (Eva) and Carl (Donna). Also his extended family, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Archibald and Lillian Simmons, grandchildren Melissa Langdon and Stephen Simmons, son-in-law Barry King, brother Woodrow, sister-in-law Marion Simmons, his brothers-in-law Jack Upwards and Eric Knight. Ed was a wonderful family man, he loved his family dearly, he was a true friend, he Lived, Laughed, Loved life to the fullest, we will miss you ED! The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home, 63 North Main Street, on Saturday March 22nd, 2008 from the hours 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Cremation will follow and a memorial service will take place on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake, with Major Lindsey Oxford officiating.
