It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ernest Abbott of Bonavista announce his sudden passing at the Health Science Centre Cancer Unit, St. John’s, NL on Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 in his 80th year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 49 years Vera Abbott (nee Burge), daughter Daisy (Dana) Bennett, Corner Brook, NL, sons: Ross (Philomena) Abbott, Benoits Cove, NL, Dwayne (Colleen) Abbott, Saskatoon, SK; grandchildren: Kristy (Jonathan) Mackie, Waverly, NS; Chad Bennett, London, ON, Roxanne (Doug Fewer), Benoits Cove, NL, Farron Abbott, Benoits Cove, NL, Ashley, Erin, Julie and Christopher Abbott, Saskatoon, SK; great-grandchildren: Emilee and Brooklyn Fewer and Liam Mackie. Predeceased by parents Stephen and Selina (nee Mouland) Abbott, brother George Abbott, infant children Isabelle and Stephen Abbott and (his dog Patches). Also left to mourn are many Abbott and Mouland cousins, as well as other family members and a large circle of friends. He retired to Bonavista 20 years ago. The funeral service was held November 1, 2008 at Bonavista with Salvation Army Majors Terry and Roxann Feltham officiating. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.
