It is with great sadness that the family of the late Florence Allen announce her passing on Friday, July 4th, 2008 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 67 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband, James; children: Darlene (Wayne) Hickey, Benoits Cove, Richard (Judy), Pasadena, Deloris (Jeremy) Youden, Lark Harbour; daughter-in-law: Shirley Allen, Frenchman’s Cove; eight grandchildren: Angie (Marvin), Dwayne, Amber and Abigail, Holly (Andrew) and Brittany, Melanie and Jessie ; one great grandchild: Colby; special children: Isabella and Nicholas; sister and brothers: Vivian Parsons, Rose Blanche, Ernest (Shirley) Hatcher, Rose Blanche and Leo "Ralph" (Joan) Hatcher, Glace Bay, NS; special friends: Janet Tucker, Christine Wheeler and Hilda Hackett; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Olive Hatcher, brothers: Clarence and Philip,sister Nina Simms; brother-in-law: Ralph Parsons; special friends, Rose and Nathaniel Hickey and Alice MacDonald. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling street on Saturday and Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m.. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 4th, at 2:00 p.m. from St. Ambrose Anglican Church, John’s Beach. Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.
