Passed away peacefully at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, February 20th, 2009, George Stephen Butt at the age of 73 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife; Emma (nee Parsons) of 50 years, his 2 daughters; Verna (Mike Baggs) of Churchill Falls, Labrador, and Diana (Tim Sansom) of Brighton, Ontario. His son; Eric (Rita) of Frenchman's Cove, Bay of Islands. His 8 grandchildren; Sabrina (Jay) of Enfield, N.S. Samantha (Paul) of Churchill Falls, Labrador, Fred (Stacey) of Labrador City, Tyler and Curtis of Brighton, Ontario, Megan and Nicholas of Frenchman's Cove, and Neil (Alison) of McIvers, his great grandaughter; Abby. His sisters; Ivernia (Tom) of Plymouth, Mass, Diana (Greg) of St. John's, and Lucy (Reg) of Woody Point. His brother; Stanley (Shirley) of Woody Point. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of relatives, friends and his extended families. George was predeceased by his parents; Lucy and George and his nephew; Shawn. The family had visitation for family and friends from Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, Corner Brook on Saturday, February 21st, 2009 from the hours of 7 - 9 pm, on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009 from the Church of The Epiphany in Woody Point from the hours of 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm and today Monday, February 23rd, 2009 from the hours of 10 - 12, from where also the funeral service will take place on today Monday, February 23rd, 2009 at 2 pm with the Rev. Laing officiating with the burial to follow at the church cemetery in Woody Point. Flowers, and or donations to the Church of the Epiphany building fund or to the Cancer Unit of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in Georges memory would be gratefully appreciated.
