Passed peacefully away on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s after a courageous battle with cancer, Gwendolyn Marie Wells-Power, age 53 years. Predeceased by her first husband, Jim Wells; father-in-law, Ted Power. Leaving to mourn her loving husband, Christopher; four step-children: Scott Wells (Stephanie), Tracey Wells (David), Christina Power (Danny Griffen) and Kimberley Power; three grandchildren: Riley, Callum and Lila; parents, Allan and Harriett White; three sisters: Wanda Griffen (Phil), Arlene Goosney (Bill) and Pam Sinnocks (Alvin Benoit); two brothers, Ross White (Joyce Marche) and Nick White (Martina); mother-in-law, Clare Power; brothers-in-law: Allan Power, Paul Power, Ted Power, Gerry Power (Carol-Ann), Craig Power (Christine Richard), Jim Power (Dianne), Gordon Power (Donna), Wayne Wells (Doreen); sisters-in-law, Peg Connors (Wayne), Susan Tobin (Norman); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, St. John’s on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to take place from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
