It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ivy Baker announce her passing on Thursday, February 7th, 2008 at the 6th Floor of Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Edwin (Robina), Bertrand (Irene Sheppard), Ivan (Mary-Anne Regular), Sylvia (Martin) Gordon, Patsy (Fred) Nichols, Elaine (Lloyd) Stagg; brothers: Robert (Ruth) Langdon, Bramwell Langdon, Carl (Gloria) Langdon; sisters: Eileen Varga, Lovenia (Howard) Wagg, Gladys Patey, Cora (Eric) Matchim; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and daughter-in-law, Debbie Baker. She was predeceased by her husband, Eli; parents: Archibald and Louise Langdon; grandson, Cyril; daughter-in-law, Jessie; sisters: Margaret and Stella and brothers: Ralph, Selby, Norman and Newman. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 10 Clinic Drive, Deer Lake on Saturday, February 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, February 10th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 11th at 2:00 p.m. from the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church in Deer Lake with Pastor Terry Snow officiating. Interment will follow at the Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery, Wights Road. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Fund.
