It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Stagg announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Friday May 2, at the age of 79 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Elizabeth, his two daughters; Shirley (Sten) Faines in Norway and Sharon (Alf) Sjoen in Stephenville. He also leaves with fond memories his three brothers; Art (Annie) and Albert (Linda) both in Grand Falls- Windsor and Raymond in Springdale, his five sisters; Elsie (Ches) Butt in Burnside, Vera (Don) Parsons and Madeline (Claude) Willis both in Dover, Ivy (Winston) Squires and Glenda Firmage both in Eastport, his five grandchildren; Sonja, Terje, Ingrid, Monique and Svein, his five great grandchildren, Andrea, Stina, Julia, Nathalia, and Taylor along with a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents William and Violet, his brother Thomas and sisters Sadie and Marie. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at 2 pm from the Zion Pentecostal Church on Carolina Avenue in Stephenville with the Interment in Hillside Interfaith Cemetery on the Hansen Highway. Friends may call at Russel’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Monday and Tuesday. As expressions of sympathy, flowers graciously accepted or donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
