Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on September 25, 2008, Evelyn Beatrice Thorne in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband Stanley in 1977 and son Stanley on March 26, 2008. Leaving to mourn her children Joan (Jacob) Rideout; Melvin (Marie), Nova Scotia; Glenda (Gerry) Stewart of Ontario; Shirley (Doug) Sisson of California, USA; Lola (Les) Field and daughter-in-law Shirley Thorne (Ontario); twenty-one grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends. The family will receive visitors at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service to take place on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 2:00 from St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Torbay. Interment to follow at St. Nicholas' Anglican Cemetery, Torbay. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Daffodil Place.
