It is with great sadness that the family of the late Leonard “Buggie” McCarthy announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at the age of 67 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Gertrude (Lucas); one son, Kevin (Kim) McCarthy of Stephenville; two daughters: Lorna (Charlie) Abbott of British Columbia and Christina (Pat) Mahoney of Alberta; two brothers: Wilfred (Liza) of Alberta and Charles Patrick (Shirley) of Stephenville Crossing; three sisters: Bessie (Urban) White of Stephenville Crossing, Barbara (Sammy) Barter of Stephenville Crossing and Laura (Isaac) Lucas of Alberta; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Sharlene Abbott and his parents, Leonard and Emmie McCarthy. Friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, Station Road, Stephenville Crossing on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 13th at 2:00 p.m. with interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Brook Street, Stephenville Crossing. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations to a charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
