It is with great sadness that the family of the late Lloyd Gardner announces his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at the age of 83 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth; sons: Chesley Gardner, Lloyd Gardner, Alonzo Gardner (Margie) and Roy Gardner (Alice); daughters: Ruby (Roy) and Princealean (Ken); sister-in-law, Gladys Gardner; brothers-in-law: Ken, Ben (Babs); 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a large circle of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Annie Gardner; brothers, John and Arestis; and sisters: Victoria Clarke and Rachel Tavenor. The family will be receiving friends at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Sunday, August 24, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Parish, Park Drive. Interment at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
