It is with great sadness that the family of the late Madge Walker announce her passing at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, on Saturday, January 10th, 2009 at the age of 69 years. She was the daughter of the late George and Mariam (nee Callahan) Young. She was also predeceased by first husband Fred McWhirter; brothers: Valentine (Tim), Jeffery, Nick and Dennis; sister Winnifred Dobbin; brother-in-law Arthur Dobbin and son-in-law Wayne Harvey. Leaving to mourn: husband, Budd; daughters: Paula (Donnie) Coleman, Georgina (Derek) LeRiche; son, Bob McWhirter; grandchildren: Jenna, Cody, Chad and Katie; brother, Gerald (Sheila) Young, Corner Brook; sisters: Joan (Jack) Masson, BC, Lena (Roy) Willis, Corner Brook; sisters-in-law: Margaret Young, Corner Brook, Mildred Young, Massachusetts, USA, Jean Allen, Corner Brook and Marjorie Young, ON; along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends visited Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Port aux Basques on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service took place from St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church in Port aux Basques on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 2:00 P.M., officiated by Father Lee Lainey.
