It is with great sadness that the family of the late Patrick James McHenry announces the passing of a wonderful husband, dear father, brother, uncle and brother-in-law, at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, May 2, 2008 at the age of 67 years. He leaves to mourn his best friend and loving wife Lynn (nee Shallow), his sons: Michael and wife Jaime of Leicester, England, and Matthew and fiance Mary Jamieson of Halifax, NS. Also left to mourn are his siblings and their families: Claire and Paul Dion of Penetang, ON, Brian and Helen McHenry of Poplar Hill, ON, Anne and Jack Brown of Brights Grove, ON, Cavin and Anne McHenry of London, ON, Mavourneen McHenry of Oakville, ON, Frances and Michael Morgan of Peachtree City, GA, USA, Terrance and Janet (Hoffman) McHenry of Sarnia, ON; brother-in-law: Michel Ouimet, Pontiac, PQ. His extended family also mourns his passing: his mother-in-law Marie Shallow of Grand Falls-Windsor; Paul and Sandra Shallow of Marystown; Patricia Shallow of Quebec City; Michael Shallow of Marystown; Helen and Roy Leger of Oakville, ON; Anne and Vincent Kordyback of Vancouver, BC; Marie Shallow of Ottawa, ON; Charles and Jennifer Shallow of Mt. Pearl; Christopher and Jackie Shallow of Kamloops, BC; Gerard Shallow of St. John’s; John and Wanda Shallow of St. John’s; as well as a number of nieces and nephews across the country. He was predeceased by his father: James (1990); mother: Elizabeth (2006); sister: Elizabeth (2007). The family will be receiving friends at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place from the Cathedral of the Most Holy Redeemer and Immaculate Conception on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 10:30 am with Monsignor Gale officiating. At Patrick’s request, cremation will take place following services and interment will take place at Mount Patricia Cemetery on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 4:30 pm. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of the Chemotherapy Unit, Palliative Care Unit of the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, as well as the staff off the Radiation Therapy Dept at the Health Sciences Centre, St. John’s for their care and compassion during his time of illness.
