Claude Roy of Nackawic, NB passed away April 5, 2010 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. Born in 1947 at Plaster Rock, NB, he was a son of the late Victor and Laura (Boudreau) Roy. Claude volunteered with the Nackawic Ambulance for several years and at the time of his death had been employed with AV Nackawic for 39 years. He had a sense of humor and appreciated the simple things in life. Claude had a very strong work ethic and took great pride in his home, his yard, his work and his family. He was a devoted grandfather and enjoyed every moment with Amber and Josh. He was a humble, selfless and committed man. Claude was a wonderful father and demonstrated dedication through the loving care of his wife. Claude is survived by his wife, Donna (McGuire) Roy; his children, Sara Belong (John), Fredericton and Darin Roy (Lisa), Lower Queensbury; two grandchildren, Amber and Josh; two brothers, Robert Roy (Beverly), Fort Erie, ON and Ron Roy, Nackawic; four sisters, Marianne McCoœy (Ed), Theresa Roy (Bob), Nora Matthewson (Larry), all of Fort Erie, ON and Claudette Minnick (Greg), Cambridge, ON; sisters-in-law, Sharon Chahley (Wayne), Cathy Corey (Randy), both of Halifax, NS, Joan Hawkins, Nackawic, Simmion Roy, Hamilton, ON and Jean Roy, Fort Erie, ON; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Claude was predeceased by sisters, Gilbertha Michaud, Cecile Roy and Lorraine Roy; brothers, Fernand, Hector and Norman Roy; a brother-in-law, Raymond Michaud and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Roy.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Simon and St. Jude Catholic Church, Nackawic on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Father Bill Brennan officiating. Interment will be later at St. Simon and St. Jude Cemetery.
