Robert William Woolaver passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on April 7, 2010, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born March 24, 1928, in Digby, NS, Bob was a member of the RCMP for 29 years, and employed 10 years with the New Brunswick Police Commission and later the Solicitor General's Office. He enjoyed sharing stories of life experiences with family and friends. His passion was for fishing, hunting, and golfing, and spending quality time with his wife Brenda at their camp on the Cains River. He is survived by his wife Brenda of 54 years; his children Brent (Ellen) Penniac, Susan Ierfino (Nick) Ottawa, Heather Jordan (Kevin) Hanwell, Mark (Kim) Montpelier, VT; grandchildren (Charlene, Michelle, Cody, Christopher, Samantha, Stephanie, Dawn, Neil, Christine, Sara, Stacy, David); and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his eldest son Keith Michael Woolaver. He is also survived by his eldest brother Phillip Woolaver (Shirley) of Bear River, NS and predeceased by four brothers and two sisters.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor Saturday, April 10 at 2 pm, at St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church, 120 Regent Street with Fr. Gerry White as celebrant. A reception to follow in the Monsignor Boyd Family Centre. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Bob, the family has suggested the Miramichi Salmon Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
