The death of Bertha Floris (Price) MacNeill, wife for 64 years of the late Durwood MacNeill, occurred on Monday, April 19, 2010 at York Manor Nursing Home. Born on July 12, 1917 in Priceville, NB, she was the eldest daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (Stewart) Price. Bertha was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church and the AWL. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, gardening and attending her flowers. Bertha is survived by her six sons, Floyd of Zealand, NB, Eugene of Fredericton, NB, Allison (Joan) of Springdale, NF, Richard (Leslie) of Burtts Corner, NB, John (Anne) of Lower Hainesville, NB and Robert of Burtts Corner, NB; five daughters, Geneva (Bill) Jones of Oromocto, NB, Leona (Norman) Wiggins of Burtts Corner, NB, Gloria (Gerald) Northrup of Oromocto, NB, Mabel (Kenn) Pugh of Calgary, AB and Katherine MacNeill of Fredericton, NB; 22 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude (Douglas) Price and Ethel Brewer both of Fredericton, NB and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Walter and Frank; five sisters, Nellie, Phyllis, Ada, Olive and Mary; one daughter, Ruby Roberts and an infant son, Wilfred; grandson, Christopher MacNeill (Roberts).
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, April 22, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 23, 2010 at 3 pm with Rev. David Wellwood officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Michael, Travis and Peter MacNeill, Richard Jones, Danny and Jack Hine. Interment will take place at Burtts Corner Community Cemetery.
