Bruce Batten
December 10, 1936 - March 31, 2010
We would like to thank everyone for their generous support during this difficult time. Thank you to the staff of Palliative Care who made Bruce's last week of his life so very comfortable. Your kindness and compassion made it much easier for the family. May God Bless you all for that.
A sincere thank you to the Very Reverend Michael Rice and Archbishop Stewart Payne in delivering such a touching service. We also want to thank organist Louise Bishop, trumpeter Darren Hancock, the Anglican Church Choir, readers Ann Marie Coleman and Courtney Murphy, and Eric Fitzgerald for his wonderful tribute to Bruce. I also want to thank Bruce's long time and special friend, Roland Cunning, for taking part in his Celebration of Life.
A special thank you to all the members of the Westmount Club for showing their love, kindness and support for Bruce as demonstrated through the "Irish Wake" that was held in his honor. The "Music and Friends" was the way Bruce would like to have been remembered. The Batten Family will never forget the send off you gave to our very gentle "Gentleman".
The family would also like to thank the outpouring of support as shown with the flowers, donations, phone calls, cards and a neverending flow of food to our home and funeral home by so many loving and caring friends and neighbours. I would like to thank my special friends Florence and Tom Brown for sending Bruce and I meals each week before he passed away. They were indeed certainly appreciated. May God Bless you both for that.
Thank you to everyone who touched Bruce's life. You all helped make a difficult time in our lives a little easier to bear. May God Bless each & every one of you.
Gladys, Michelle, Barbara and families.
