Colpitts, Howard Earl - 92, Tatamagouche, passed away April 21, 2010 in Willow Lodge, Tatamagouche. Born in Amherst, he was a son of the late Howard Sr. and Edith (Weatherbee) Colpitts. He moved with his parents to Massachusetts, USA and then at the age of twelve he returned home to live with his grandparents. In his younger years, he worked in lumbering and farming. Later he took up carpentry at which he worked until retiring. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Winnifred; sons, Donald, Dean (Darlene); daughter, Darlene (Angus) Hill; grandchildren, Tony (Paula) Hill, Kimberly (Bill Maynard), Katelyn and Tyler Colpitts; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda and Cody Hill; brothers, Donald (Lydia), Gerald (Betty); sisters, Hilda Boudrow, Massachusetts, Betty Clinch, North Carolina; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Walter and Harold; sister, Jean. No visitation by request. A Graveside Service will be held at Lockerby Cemetery, Tatamagouche on Saturday, April 24 at 2:00 pm for family and friends with Rev. Morley Bentley officiating. Family flowers only.
