Edouard, LeBlanc, 92, formerly of 500 Elmwood Drive in Moncton, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2010 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing in Saint John, NB, where he resided. Born on July 25, 1917 in Fox Creek, NB, he was the son of the late Job and Herminie (Léger) LeBlanc. Before his retirement, Edouard worked as a barber. An overseas veteran, Edouard served his country during the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Army, Second Division Medical Corps. Edouard was a well known volunteer playing his violin (his pride and passion) at numerous nursing homes and local hospitals. He is survived by two sons: Guy (Monique) of New Maryland and Roger of Dieppe; one sister, Jeannette LeBlanc of Québec; one brother, Henri (Eileen) of Moncton, and two grandchildren: Marc and Michelle. He was predeceased by his wife, Thérèse LeBlanc, one sister, Ida Caissie and one brother, Arthur.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette's Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Friday April 23 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until time of departure (9:45). The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church (Humphrey) on Saturday, April 24 at 10 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary, Dieppe. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance on Friday at 6:50 pm at the funeral home.
