Georgina McIsaac of Highland Street, Glace Bay, and formerly of New Aberdeen, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at home.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Cameron) Martin.
Georgina was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church and a former member of its CWL. Georgina belonged to the ladies auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, Branc 3, Glace Bay. She loved to bake and play cards with the ladies on Wednesday nights. But mostly, Georgina will be remembered as a very compassionate, quiet lady who loved her family and life.
She is survived by her son, David and his wife the former, Lynn O'Keefe, Glace Bay; two grandchildren, David, Inuvik, Natalie (Adam) Pearson, Middleton, N.S.; brother-in-law, Terry Ball; sister-in-law, Theresa Martin, both in Halifax; and several nieces and nephews.
Georgina was predeceased by her husband, Tom McIsaac in June of 1987, four brothers, Peter, Tommy, Garfield, Cameron and two sisters, Marion and Catherine.
Visitation will be held today (Friday, April 23) from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. in the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home,16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The funeral mass officiated by Rev. Conrad Edwards is Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy for Georgina, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
