Lloyd Douglas Bates, 92, of Upper Coverdale passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Moncton Hospital.
Lloyd, born April 18, 1918 in Campbellton was a son of the late Burpee and Ina (Eldridge) Bates. For many years he owned and operated a camera shop in Toronto before retiring to his native New Brunswick where he was an active Apiarist (Beekeeper) and owned a beekeeping supply business. Lloyd, a Veteran of World War II, was a mechanic in the Air Force. He is survived by a sister Barbara Gaskin (Norman) of Upper Coverdale; a brother Clyde of Victoria, BC and a niece Ruth Wheatley (George) with whom he resided. Predeceased by wife Anna and son David.
