1st March 1935 - 20th April, 2010 - Mike was born in England to Ena and Percy Street. He was the beloved husband of Jean for 47 years, loving father of Matthew (Suzanne) and Victoria (Kevin) and granddad to Kristopher, Liam, Sam and William. He was a brother to Douglas, Dennis, Edna, Kenneth, Colin and John (deceased). Mike was educated in England and was admitted to The Royal Institute of Chemistry as a Chartered Chemist. He worked in the Mining & Smelting Industry in England, Africa and Canada. Mike was a Charter member of the Fredericton Sunrise Rotary Club and also held many positions within Rotary District 7810. He was Vice President of Canadian Rotary Collaboration for International Development. Mike received the Paul Harris Fellow Recognition on multiple occasions and the Citation of Meritorious Service from Rotary International. He was a member of St. Paul United Church were he served as an Elder, Trustee and Treasurer. Family, Rotary and Church were of significant importance in his life.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at St. Paul's United Church on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Peter Short officiating and Rev. Kenneth Street assisting. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Rotary Club of Fredericton North Inc. Charity Trust in memory of Mike Street; New Brunswick Lung Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
