It is with great sadness that the family of the late Wycliffe Otto Young announce his sudden passing at his family residence at 4 Young's Ave, Deer Lake, on Friday, October 29th, 2008 in his 78th year, leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife; Bessie (nee Howell), his children; Sylvia (Clayton Reid) of Edmonton, Alberta, Mona Young (David Watkins) of Deer Lake, Morris (Brenda) of Kamloops, BC, Robert (Barbara) of Bonavista, and Angela Young (Kevin Anstey) of Summer ford, his grandchildren; Gary, Corrine, Stephen, Nancy, Mandy, Brian, Deanna, Desmond, Dana, & Josh, his great grandchildren; Thomas, Adreanna, Justin, Victoria, Rylan, & Bradon. His brothers; Roland (Mary) of Corner Brook, Hayward (Phoebe) & Ralph, both of Deer Lake, Emmanuel (Joan) of Ontario, his sisters; Pearl (Lloyd Traverse), & Mrs. Fannie Whalen, both of Deer Lake, Dorothy (Allan Noel) of Summer ford, & Mrs. Ella Mills of Toronto, his sister-in-law; Mrs. Joan Young of Toronto. Also leaving to mourn a large number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives, friends, and his extended family. Cliff was predeceased by his parents; Henry & Naoni Young, grandchild; Kristy, his brothers; Hector, Rex, & Garfield, his sisters-in-law; Emma, & Lillian, his brothers-in-law; William Whalen, Doyle Mills, Joe Earle, Max Loder & Art Anstey. Cliff was a very active person of the Town of Deer Lake; he was a past Scout Leader, a long time member of the Salvation Army Band. The Master of the Orange Lodge & also a Past Master of the Royal Black Lodge. In his spare time he loved to bowl with his good buddies at the bowling alley. The family received family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, on Saturday, November 1st, 2008 from the hours of 7 - 9 pm and on Sunday, November 2nd, 2008, from the hours of 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm .The funeral service will take place on Monday, November 3rd, 2008 at 2 pm from the Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake with Majors Terry Hopkins & Major Lindsey Oxford officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot of the church cemetery at High Street, Deer Lake. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake.
