It is with great sadness that the family of the late Hayward Young announce his passing on Monday, April 26th, 2010 at the Interfaith Home in his 88th year. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Phœbe (nee Watkins); his daughter, Lillian (Don) Rowsell of Deer Lake and his son, Wayne (Wanda) of Portugal Cove; five grandchildren: Nelson, Jason (Betty), Stephen (Angie), Lee & Tracy; three great-grandchildren: Tory, Colin and Dylan; his step-children: Wayne (Linda), Brad (Theresa), Wade (Jackie) and Brenda (Phil), all of Deer Lake; four step-grandchildren: Jason, Bryan, Scott and Cody; brothers: Ralph of Deer Lake and Emmanuel of Ontario; three sisters: Fannie Whalen of Corner Brook, Dorothy (Allen) of Summerford and Pearl (Lloyd) of Deer Lake; also a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his first wife, Madge; parents, Henry and Naomi; brothers: Wycliff, Garfield and Rex; sister, Ella. Visitation will take place from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 Northmain Street, Deer Lake, today, Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. from the Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake with Major Wayne Pike officiating. Interment to follow at the family plot on High Street. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, Deer Lake.
