ALEX VANSIL
April 27, 1938 - April 24, 2010
It is with great sadness that the family of Alex Vansil announces that his death occurred at the Victoria Hospital on Saturday, April 24, 2010, at the age of 71. Alex was the youngest of five brothers born to Andrew and Ann Vansil. He was born on April 27, 1938 at Kelliher, SK, growing up near Prince Albert on his parent's farm. As a young man he played violin in a band of local musicians and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Dad had a passion for hunting, fishing or restoring guns and loved to watch sports on TV. When his family was young, the boys friends were also important to him, whether talking with or advising them. Alex is survived by his loving family: his wife Sheila of almost 48 years of marriage; his sons Dwayne, James and Alex all of Prince Albert; his grandchildren Shawn, Brandi, Damien, Ashly and Chanse and his brother John (Edith). He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Ted, Ray and Ed. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 29 from River Park Memorial Chapel. Father Matthew Nguyen will officiate. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the Dialysis Unit at the Victoria Hospital for all the kindness shown to the family and friends.
