We regret to announce the passing of Shirley Ellen Trasuk on April 26, 2010, at the Glace Bay Hospital.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter the late John and Ann (Nash) Rogers. She was a resident of Glace Bay and formerly of King Edward Street.
In her earlier years she worked at Lipkus and Sons Fish Plant, and Phalen Bakery.
She was an avid bingo fan.
She is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Rickey Deveaux), Mary (Michael MacPherson) and Elaine Roger, all of Glace Bay; grandchildren, Kyle Mathew Deveaux, Amy MacPherson, Chad MacPherson; great-granddaughter, Charley; brother, Tommy (Lorraine), sisters, Beulah Lillington, Nina Juski, all of Glace Bay; also survived by many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Andrew (Shirley) Trasuk; sister-in-law, Frances White, both of Ontario, Rosie Francis, Westmount.
She was predeceased by her husband, Tommy, brother, John Edward and sister, Georgina.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will take place Thursday, April 29, 2010, at St. Mary's Anglican Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Vernon Reid officiating
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home. Burial at late date.
